About Sherril Schlesinger

Sherril began working in film in South Africa, Zimbabwe
 and Namibia. She then relocated to Los Angeles and has worked on over 30 feature films, documentaries and theme park films as an editor, visual effects editor, post production supervisor/coordinator, production coordinator and writer.

She often guides the post process from principal photography to delivery, which has given Sherril the opportunity to use her creative, technological and organizational skills. She is well versed in Avid, Premier Pro and Final Cut and understands the post process intimately.

Recently she headed up the post production department for Uproxx Reports, a division of Uproxx Media, dedicated to telling web based stories about things that matter and people who are making a difference.

Her career spans a wide array of genres and subjects. Some of the feature films that she has edited include Mr. Christmas, a romantic comedy starring Tara Holt;

All-Stars, a mockumentary starring Fred Willard and Richard Kind, and a cameo from John Goodman; Curse of Mesopotamia, a Middle Eastern horror film; and

Atlas Shrugged Part 1, an adaptation of the Ayn Rand novel starring Taylor Schilling.

Sherril’s diverse interests have led her to explore a multitude of subjects through the medium of film. Many of her projects have examined human consciousness

(The Louise Hay Story), social conscience (the award winning political

documentaries Reconciliation: Mandela’s Miracle and Rush To War);

and the human condition (the documentary Banner On The Moon.)

Her ability to quickly understand and adapt to new technologies opened the door for her to work in the theme park arena. She edited Despicable Me:
 Minion Mayhem a 3D Ride for Universal Studios which won both an Annie and a VES Award; and the 3D-animated ride, It’s Tough to Be a Bug (It’s a Bug’s Life spin-off) for Disney and Pixar. She was the Visual Effects Editor on Ellen’s Energy Adventure a 70mm circle vision attraction for Epcot in Disneyworld starring Ellen DeGeneres, Bill Nye and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Some of her other projects include the Dr. Phil Show and branding videos for corporate clients such as Epson, Care More, among others.

She shot, wrote and edited a short film entitled: Okavango: Journey To My Heart (in Botswana) reflecting her deep love of nature and the inhabitants of the “wild spaces” that are left on our planet. Sherril calls it a “Poementary!”

Making films that transform, inform and inspire embody her mission; and her passion: storytelling.
